Brian Watson has now joined the team at Howe Country Centre on a permanent basis.  Brian's position is that of Events Coordinator.  He will normally be in the office or on the premises Tuesday to Friday between the hours of 0900 to 1630 and can be contacted on 01337 831244 or by Mobile 07921681853 or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Flatwork Training.

Perhaps the most important part of any equine discipline.  Since it has been known that Brian was coming to work at Howe Country Centre a few riders have asked him about Flatwork training and this is being looked into.  However, it would be interesting to know the numbers who would be interested.  Please intimate your interest by e-mail to Brian at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

TUESDAY SCHOOLING NIGHTS - CHANGE OF FORMAT.

As from Tuesday, 24th January, 2012 the format will change for schooling nights.  The evenings will not have a competitive nature and will be used for schooling.  There will still be a course of fences but these will include fences that may be problematic i.e. water tray, stile, fillers, filler boards.  There will be courses set at 65cms, 75cms, 85cms, 95cms and 1.05cms.  Each course will be jumped twice by each competitor and double clears will collect a rosette.  Should there be a need for higher fences on a particular evening this will be accommodated.  The intention is to allow riders to attempt problematic fences without the pressure of competition.  Brian Watson will be on hand each evening to assist riders in completing the courses.  It will be the riders choice if they wish to leave a particular fence out of their round.  Please view the schedule on the calendar.  Should anyone have a particular request they can contact Brian on 01337 831244, Mobile 07921681853 or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and if possible the request can be accommodated in the course which will be built on the Tuesday morning prior to the schooling evening.

THE BIG STOOSHIE! Scotland's Charity Music Festival

On 4,5 & 6 May 2012 Howe Country Centre will host the biggest music festival in Fife.  It is a charity event in support of "Help For Heroes" and "SSAFA", the organisers aim to raise £100,000 from tickets sales which will go directly to these two amazing charities.  The event will see a huge presence from the Forces, with some great outdoor activities planned, maybe you will be able to test your skills as a Marine, will you lose your nerve??!!  There will be two undercover music stages, as well as various side-shows and of course the usual food, drink and retail stalls.  The second release of bands has gone to print on the many posters being displayed around Fife, however there are more bands coming on-board on a weekly basis.  Now confirmed are James, The Hoosiers, The Damned, The Beat, From the Jam and many more in all 60 acts over 3 days on 2 stages including lots of local talent.  Tickets can be purchased directly from Howe Country Centre, or alternatively you can get news daily on Facebook/The Big Stooshie or at www.bigstooshie.com.  It's a bit of a change from Show Jumping or Dressage but it will undoubtedly be an exciting weekend of entertainment for everyone, the tickets are selling fast.  Don't miss out - be part of "The BIG Stooshie".
